Deleting your account
You can delete your own account from your profile. This removes you as a person; it is different from deleting an organization, which removes a whole workspace.
Delete your account
Section titled “Delete your account”- Open your profile and find Delete account at the bottom.
- Type your email address to confirm, then choose Delete my account.
- You are signed out. Your account cannot be recovered.
What is removed, and what stays
Section titled “What is removed, and what stays”Your name, email, and photo are removed. Your email address frees up, so you could sign up again later as a new account.
Your past contributions stay with each organization, because the organization is the keeper of its own records. Records you entered, reviews you made, and the like remain, but your name on them changes to Deleted user. This keeps each organization’s data and history intact while removing your personal details.
Your organizations
Section titled “Your organizations”- An organization that only you belong to is deleted along with your account.
- In an organization where you are a member or a co-owner, you simply leave. The organization keeps its data and its other owners.
- If you are the only owner of an organization that has other members, you cannot delete your account yet. Make another member an owner, or delete that organization, first, so other people’s work is not lost.
