The status pipeline

A sample moves through three statuses, so anyone looking at the list can see where each one stands without asking.

  • Received. The sample has been logged. Every sample starts here.
  • In analysis. The lab is working on it.
  • Completed. The work is done and a result is recorded.

Advance a sample

Section titled “Advance a sample”
  1. Find the sample in the Lab samples list.
  2. Change its status with the status control on the sample, moving it to In analysis when the lab begins, and to Completed when the result is in.
  3. Save the change.

When you mark a sample Completed, CensusIO stamps the analysis date with today’s date if you have not already set one, so a completed sample always carries a date.
