Reviewing at scale

A field season can produce thousands of records. Two tools make reviewing them practical.

Bulk review

Turn on Review mode on the records table to get a checkbox on each row and an action bar at the bottom.

Select rows one by one, or shift-click to select a range.
Or choose Select all matching this filter to act on the entire filtered set, not just the rows on screen. For example, filter to In review, select all, and approve them together.
The action bar offers Submit for review and Flag (members and up), and Approve and Reject (admins). Rejecting asks for a reason that applies to the batch.

When the batch finishes, CensusIO tells you how many were updated, how many were published (if you approved), and how many were skipped because they were already in that state.

The review map

For a spatial pass, open the Review map. It plots your records as points you can click or box-select (shift-drag), with a linked table beside the map and, for numeric surveys, distribution charts beneath it.

Color the points by:

Location: on station, near, or off station.
Data outliers: clean, check, or outlier.
Review state: approved, in review, rejected, or draft.

Selecting points on the map selects them in the same action bar as bulk review, so you can, say, lasso a cluster of off-station points and reject them in one go. The map plots the newest records (up to a couple of thousand); for a larger set, filter on the records table first.
