KoboToolbox
If your team collects in KoboToolbox, you can sync those submissions into a CensusIO survey type. Open Integrations to set it up.
Connect your account
Section titled “Connect your account”First get your API key from KoboToolbox, then paste it into CensusIO.
- In KoboToolbox, open your account Security page on the global KoboToolbox server (use your own server’s address if your team is on a regional or self-hosted KoboToolbox). Copy the value shown under API Key.
- In CensusIO, open Integrations, and under Connected accounts choose Connect KoboToolbox account.
- Leave the Server URL on the global KoboToolbox server (change it only if you copied the key from a different server), paste the API Key into the token field, and connect.
CensusIO checks the key, stores it encrypted, and never shows it again. You connect an account once and can use it for many projects.
Connect a project
Section titled “Connect a project”Under Project connections, choose Connect a project:
- Pick the Account and the Project (CensusIO lists the account’s projects, marking any that are not deployed yet), give the connection a Name, and choose the Target survey type, then Continue.
- Map the fields. For each Kobo field, choose the survey type field it maps to, or (skip). A field that is part of a repeat group expands one submission into one record per entry.
- Choose Save connection.
The connection then syncs on its own, and you can run Sync now at any time. Use Edit mapping to change the mapping, and Enable / Disable or Remove to manage the connection.
When a submission fails
Section titled “When a submission fails”A submission that is fetched but does not pass validation is held back and counted as an issue on the connection. Open the issues panel to see the error and the raw submission, fix the form or the mapping, and Sync now to land it. You can Dismiss a row you do not intend to fix.
