Add collectors
A collector is a field worker who collects data into CensusIO with the CensusIO app or ODK Collect, using the same setup link. They do not need a CensusIO account; a token in the setup link is all they use.
Add a collector
Section titled “Add a collector”From Collectors, fill in the Add a collector form:
- Enter the collector’s Name and Email.
- Choose which forms they may collect: leave All forms (including ones you add later) checked, or uncheck it and pick specific survey types.
- Choose Add collector.
CensusIO creates a one-time setup link and emails it to the collector. The link is also shown to you once, with a Copy button, so you can share it another way if the email does not arrive. It is shown once and carries the collector’s access, so treat it like a password.
Status and revoking
Section titled “Status and revoking”Each collector shows a status:
- invited: added, but has not opened their setup link yet.
- confirmed: opened the link and is set up.
- collecting: has sent at least one record.
To remove a collector, choose Revoke. Their setup link and token stop working immediately. Records they already collected stay, still attributed to them.
