Locations and reference data

Two kinds of shared data sit behind your surveys and keep them consistent: the places your surveys happen, and the controlled lists your fields choose from. Both live under the Reference menu in the header.

  • Locations: a tree of your regions, drainages, waterbodies, and sites. Records bind to a place, which powers the location check and lets you browse and scope by area.
  • Reference data: the species list and any custom lookup lists that species and lookup fields validate against, so an entry is always a known value.
