What is shared

Publishing does not put your whole record on the internet. CensusIO builds a separate, curated public observation from each published record, and that curated record is all anyone ever sees.

What becomes public A full private record (with species, measurements, gear, notes, observer, GPS, and date) is reduced to a curated public observation showing only species, survey type, organization, date, and location. The raw record stays private. What is shared

The public observation carries only attribution fields:

  • the species (or the observation’s label),
  • the survey type,
  • the organization that contributed it,
  • the date, and
  • the location (the point or geometry).

What stays private

Section titled “What stays private”

Everything else stays inside your organization and is never published: the raw record and all its measurements and notes, attachments, the collector’s identity, and the review history. The public layer is also the only place data crosses organization boundaries; every other view is scoped to your own organization.
