Date format

CensusIO stores every date in one canonical form, ISO 8601 (for example 2026-07-05). That order reads only one way, sorts correctly, and is what standards-aligned exports use. You can choose to see dates in a different order without changing any of the stored data.

  1. In the app header, open the user menu (your name or photo, top right) and choose Your profile.
  2. Find the Date format setting, just below Units.
  3. Choose ISO (2026-07-05), M/D/Y (07/05/2026), or D/M/Y (05/07/2026) and choose Save.

From then on, dates in your records are shown to you in the order you picked.

  • It is per person. Your choice affects only what you see, so a teammate can read the same records as D/M/Y while you read them as M/D/Y.
  • It is display only. The stored value never changes; CensusIO reorders it for the screen. Exports and the data feed stay in ISO, so your records stay consistent for analysis and sharing.
  • When you type a date in a text box, or say one to the voice assistant, your chosen order is used to read it. The pop-up calendar picker follows your device’s own language and is unaffected.
